Meet Chynna
Resilient. Determined. A devoted mother of five. Chynna Caldwell's story is one of starting over with grace — and finding a community that caught her family when it mattered most.
Resilience, Hope, and Rebuilding
After Hurricane Ian displaced her family, Chynna returned to Columbus and began again as a single mother of five. The weight of uncertainty was heavy — but she stayed focused on what mattered most: her children.
That determination led her to Central Community House, where she found more than services — she found community. Through the Strong Families program, her family received support with housing, food, clothing, and access to therapy, all met with compassion and dignity. "Central didn't just offer services," she says. "They offered encouragement, hope, and care when I was overwhelmed."
Today, Chynna's foundation is stronger. "I'm most proud of my resilience and my children. Even when I didn't have answers, I kept going — and my children are still smiling, healing, and hopeful."
"She came in asking for help and left knowing she wasn't alone. That's what Central is for."
